You are 3/4 of a year old! 9 whole months! You are more and more of a little girl every day. This month was a big developmental month for you. You started crawling, pulling to stand, cruising, soothing yourself to sleep, clapping, playing peek-a-boo, signing "more" (which is just more clapping at this point), waiving, pointing, wiggling away from diaper changes, crying at strangers, and eating even more food than ever.
You cut your top left tooth on 6/14 and your top right tooth broke through on 6/18. You've been very miserable the past few days, which really means you're just a little bit fussier and a little bit squirrelier. You enjoy gumming on frozen cucumber and frozen breast milk.
You're getting all sorts of hair- in the back only. I want the hair on the top of your head to catch up, but if you're anything like Lincoln it's going to be awhile. It's a little bit curly in the back and I would love if it stayed like that.
You love a book my mom brought you called Hugs, it has a a cute white puppy on the cover and you love to touch its eyes and nose. The inside pages are touch-n-feel and you know where all the textures are.
You're favorite lovie is a soft doll we call "Dolly", you squeal and smile when you see her and you clutch her close to you all the time.
You are wearing 9 and 12 month clothes. You sleep from 8pm to around 4 or 5 am and then back down until 6:30 or 7. You take 1 nap a day usually around noon. There are nights that you don't want to go to sleep because Lincoln is still awake and you struggle to get off my lap to play with him. Only once he's out of your room and it is quiet and dark will you settle down to finish nursing and go to sleep.
You went on an airplane to Madison! It was your first trip to Wisconsin and you had a blast. You were active on the plane but slept well on all 4 legs. You got to put your toes in a lake, which you didn't like because it was too cold, you played in soft grass and ate sticks, and you loved having Chloe & Sophie push you in the baby swing.
You enjoy being upside down and you'll lean backwards to tell me you want to play more.
I love when you sit on my lap, but the days of snuggly sitter are already over because you just want to play and crawl. You're a pretty quick crawler, you'll go from the living room all the way down the hallway and then I have to come find you. You've managed to get into the dog bowls, the kitchen cabinets, and you like to bat at the spring doorstops. You have stood up on your own twice, once for me and once for Dada for just a few seconds before falling backwards on your butt.
Lincoln's not used to you being able to come get what you want. There have been some meltdowns from both of you over a toy that has been snatched from someone's hands - the snatching goes both ways. It's now becoming more real that you are going to be your own person and there will be two kids running around, playing, fighting, and making messes. Its louder, but I love it. You and Lincoln yell back and forth in the car and at the table and laugh.
I hardly remember what your newborn days where like when you fit cradled in my arms, before you laughed, before you smiled... I loved them all, but these days are full of even more!
Love, Mama
