The ONLY smile she would give me was in front of the ugly orange bricks...[/caption]Emi,
You are a handful compared to Lincoln. You have big ideas and they are not always the same as what you are capable of doing, communicating, or what we want you to do. It's amazing how much you learn just from watching Lincoln and how much faster that makes you grow up.
You are just over 2 feet 7 inches, you definitely weigh about 20 pounds, and you wear 18-24 month clothes depending on the brand. You are between a size 5 and 6 shoe and love to wear sparkly shoes. I can't get you to keep a headband on for anything. This dress was supposed to be your birthday dress and it was TOOO big. Now it's *almost* too small. It will be your Easter dress this year.

Liberation from the headband![/caption]You have just started kicking balls, you have a great throw like Lincoln, and you want to bat off the tee like him too. You love to run and play chase and Lincoln likes to grab your hand and say "giddy up" and skip, which you try to do by yourself a lot to and you mostly bob your head and look like you're stumbling. You are still slightly pigeon toed and you walk on your tip toes all the time, but so far everyone has said it's nothing to worry about. You love to run with trucks, push cars, dig in the rocks, and do everything Lincoln does.
You eat with a fork and a spoon and you drink from open cups like a pro. I thought Lincoln was cool for doing it before 2 and you've been doing it for months. Cottage cheese seems to be your favorite food of all time. You still eat pretty much anything though, except berries... I can't get you to eat any kind of berry or grapes. I haven't tried cherries.
You spontaneously start singing, often times when we are in the car. I thought you were singing Twinkle Twinkle since I sing it to you every single day over and over again, but it actually appears that you are singing the ABC's, which we also sing every single day. I shouldn't admit how long it took me to realize it was the same tune, but luckily it was at least before you were born.

We were in Baltimore last weekend and Daddy had to put you to sleep and you curled up on his chest and started singing in the middle of the hotel room. It put a sweet moment back into what was a painfully resistant bedtime for both of you. The singing is my favorite new thing. You also do Patty Cake too.
You love cats and everything meows all day long. You've also started learning that dogs say "woof", ducks say "quack", cows say "moo", and bears, dinosaurs, and wild cats "ROOAAAR!" you love to roar at Daddy. You also love your babies and your stroller. You love to take it for walks on the patio.
You love Lincoln's snow leopard so much we had to get you your own.
I don't think you love anything as much as you love Daddy. You get up with him in the mornings, you love sitting on his lap, you always want him to hold you more than me, and you cry so hard when he goes to work. You're a very snuggly girl when you want to snuggle and you love hugs... just not always from Lincoln.

Your teacher at preschool says you've started doing really well and you LOVE art. You don't always cry at drop off anymore and you seem very active in your reports and pictures. You love getting your shoes on and getting in the car to go to school. On school mornings you bring me all your stuff and when you're shoes are on you run to the garage door "go, go, go". You are not always the best car seat sitter ever, which drives me NUTS, but you always end up sitting and strapped in even if it takes 5 minutes of wrestling and some screaming and tears.
You'll tell us when you need your diaper changed or when you pee on the floor and you love to run and sit on the froggy potty, but you have no patience for staying there. You have been much harder to cloth diaper than Lincoln because you rash up SO easily and you have to wear disposables at pre-school. Now that you're often dry for hours at a time I'm trying to move you back into them full-time in the day and maybe even at night so it will help you potty train soon.
About 3 weeks ago, you finally started sleeping through the night for at least 10 hours a night. Every morning you still come into our bed and nurse back and forth, back and forth, until Joe gets up and you slide off the bed and follow him, or until you slide off yourself and hand us our clothes "here, here, here" and tell us, "get up." while pulling off the sheets. yeah, you do that a lot...
You got your first bit owie the other day and we had no idea. You like to climb in the pantry on stools and grab stuff. You started SOBBING and we'd heard nothing crash. You were wearing footy pajamas and only after Daddy changed you did he see your poor toe. Yesterday you dropped your water bottle on the one next to it and it's all bruised now too.
You are obsessed with the phones and the iPad. I have to hide them up high because if either one is left within reach you want "groger" (Monster at the End of This Book with Grover), Ginger the talking cat, or Itsy Bitsy Spider. You hold the phone to your ear and talk to Itsy Bitsy, but only Itsy Bitsy.
